A small DSLR to update the 100D??

The next model in Canon's small DSLR range.

Will it be the 150D, or will the shortage of numbers before reaching 300D make it the 110D?

The 100D was announced in March 2013, so we'll keep this page for any replacement/update rumours.

• 21st Is the move to EVF delayed a bit longer?
• We're sent some features [thanks] of a Rebel SL2 [no indication of numeric based name] that is due for shipping in August [suggesting a July launch?]
• • 24.2MP, 19 point AF, 4.5 fps, 1080/30p video
  • Hybrid CMOS AF III focus system, 7560 pixel RGB + IR metering
  • Fixed 3" LCD touchscreen, Wi-Fi + NFC
• Described as a smaller more compact version of the 750D...
  • Well, if true, it would seem that Canon still see mileage in continuing the 'small DSLR' line. It was also suggested that any introduction of EVF in the line would see somewhat wider changes in design.
  • Looking again at the timeline makes me wonder if we'll see the current 100D effectively replace the 1200D or maybe see the first EVF in a rework of the XXXXD line?
  • It's near enough in the future that we should see more details pretty soon if there's anything to it...
• 7th The SL2 gets a mention [CR] and the prospect of an EVF is raised again
• A look at the timeline is called for...

• 5th With the 24MP 750/760D due tomorrw, it's quite likely that that sensor rather than the 20MP one will appear in any followup to the 100D, but not for a while yet.
• We've been told several times in 2014 that 2015 will see a major shake-up in Canon's overall DSLR range... we shall see ;-)

2014 April

• 13th The 150D (SL2) is suggested as a Q3 product (main rumours page)

February

• 12th The 1200D is announced with an 18MP sensor and digic 4

January

• 15th Smaller camera(s) [CR] for CP+ (750D/150D or even a Canon G2X/G1 X Mk2) rather than a 7D2?

2013 November

• 14th Applause all round as Canon announce a white version of the 100D (Kiss 7) in Japan

March

• 21st The 18MP 100D is announced.
• I'm supposing it will last for at least a year, and the replacement will be Digic 6 powered and probably have a fresh sensor design (see the impending 70D and 7Dmk2 for clues)
