Xitek (translated) posted the very first image quality comparison involving the Sigma 50mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art lens, whose price and availability date are still to be announced.

Right off the bat, the Sigma 50mm f/1.4 Art (311.JPG) impresses with its excellent and consistent sharpness and control of aberrations, an even better performance than the $4,000 Zeiss Otus here. Total image quality is much more than that, so we will have to wait for more comparisons and “real-world” pictures, but this is encouraging.

The other two lenses, the Nikon AF-S 58mm f/1.4 and the Sony 50mm f/1.4 ZA Planar, really suffer in this comparison.
